World Première of …about to dawn… in Edmonton, Canada

World première of … about to dawn … for piano trio (2011) took place on Friday, 13 April 2012 (given the nature of the piece, a very fitting, sad and unlucky date…). The work was presented by the outstanding local ensemble, The Warszynski Trio, at the Muttart Hall, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

From the programme notes: … about to dawn … was written in 2011 in memory of Bronislaw Kazimierz Przybylski, one of the most widely respected Polish composers and a great friend of Canadian musicians, who passed away suddenly on 4 April 2011. This largely introverted piece evokes my sadness at the news, yet it also pays tribute to the man and his art – which certainly should survive the test of time. The piece is dedicated to Tatiana and Tadeusz Warszynski, my wonderful friends.
